Big announcement for youth ministry at St. Luke's

Hey everyone,
Hope you all are doing well and having a great week. Here's what's coming up for youth ministry at St. Luke's:
Sunday night: Parent and youth connect. Parents come for some time together to talk about school life and academics. Our focus will be around school life and your teenager. It will be a great chance to connect with other parents of teenagers as well. 5:30-7:30pm dinner included.

This weekend the confirmation class will be on their retreat. Please keep us in your prayers as they travel and have a great time in the mountains outside of Blairsville, GA.

Big announcement: We are changing the schedule for Sunday nights. We have noticed a need to separate middle schoolers and high schoolers. Each group has their own needs and we want to be responsible about serving each group faithfully. The youth council has talked about this and we have decided to move to the following schedule for Sunday nights starting Sunday March 4 (not this weekend but the following):
5:30-6:30pm middle schoolers only fun times and program
6:30-7:00pm everyone (middle school and high school together) eats dinner
7:00-8:00pm high schoolers only fun times and program

A few of Logistic details about this:
If you are a high schooler who sings in the choir: come to rehearsal, then you can stay in a room and study for an hour or go and come back. But you are welcome to stick around and work on homework and what not, we just need to know if you are here.
Siblings who are in high school and middle school: There are a few options here, that we will have to figure out as we go along. We can work on a car pool list to help, or a younger sibling could possible stay to work on homework after dinner, but supervision thing would have to come into play as well. We can talk it through if this is an issue in your family.
Dinner will be at 6:30 now.
Please help us spread the word about this.

Remember:
This is a transition into something we haven't done before (at least while Phil has been here). There will be some bumps in the road. Please let me know what comes up. Open communication will be key in all of this, like everything else. We hope it helps each group solidify and grow. We feel we can serve each group better by separating them to address things of faith differently.

As always, if you have any questions, please let me know.

Grace and Peace,
Phil Brown
