3. Modern Christian Family night October 21, Feb 24, April 21Parents come hear from of the best speakers on teenager things in the country. We've partnered with 12 other churches and Montreat Conference Center to bring you a series on parenting this year. Youth will come as well and have their own separate fun time too. More information here: registration is online, $45 per family for all three sessions. Sessions are at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Buckhead.
4. Wednesday night Photography class: We are off to a great start and would love to have you. You don't need a nice fancy camera to participate, a plain old point and shoot or even your phone will do just fine. This class if for middle school and high schoolers.
5. YOUTH CHOIR BEGINS at our new time this Sunday. Stay after youth group from 7 to 8 in the Great Hall for some volleyball action followed by a drum circle and singing. Come see who's here this year, learn some new rhythms and practice a couple of songs we will sing in worship in the coming months. Everyone is invited! Even if you think singing isn't your thing, you will have a good time. Also, let us know on Sunday if you play an instrument of any kind. We're looking forward to a great year of music from the youth of St. Luke's!

For Parents:
Last Sunday was a great night. We saw a lot of veteran youth families and a lot of new 6th grade families as well. 6th grade families please ask questions that you are unclear about and what we can do to help get you all plugged in with each other more quickly. As a reminder here's what we covered in the parent's meeting last Sunday.

Sunday morning pancake breakfast and 6th Grade pool party

1. We will see you for the pancake breakfast this week!. The youth help serve breakfast. Please wear a SLPC youth shirt or a Tartan Trot shirt (if you need one we have some at church). We need a few high schoolers to be at church at 7:00am to help start getting food ready. A majority of you will need to be to church by 8:15am to help serve and get the Great Hall ready to go.We also need some help getting cleaned up after the breakfast too.  Please let me know if you are able to help.

Also, on Sunday morning we need some youth volunteers to help hand out Tartan Trot pledge cards after worship. It's easy and will take about 10minutes. Smile and wear your Tartan Trot shirt. Let Phil know if you need one.

2. 6th Grade Pool Party is this Sunday at the Hardy house. 1:00-3:00pm. RSVP to PhilBrown@slpres.org

3. September 16th evening start 5:00-7:00PM note the time change from last year. Parents and youth come for a great night to start the year off right. Parents look for a letter in the next couple days that have some details about the year. It's going to be a potluck. last name A-M bring "main" course to share with 6. Last name N-Z bring salad or dessert to share with 6. We'll take care of drinks at church. This is easier than someone cooking for all of us.

As always, let me know if you have any questions comments or concerns.

Grace and peace,
